Goldfields Regional Liaison
Melissa is the Principal Consultant Workplace Health & Safety for a major vocational education and training provider, leading a team that supports nine campuses across regional Western Australia. The diverse nature of these training environments presents a wide range of WHS risks, requiring practical, tailored solutions.
Previously, Melissa worked in the mining sector in a WHS advisory role, where she gained a deep appreciation for how workplace culture, communication, and employee wellbeing influence safe, healthy environments. Having seen firsthand the impacts of both physical and psychological injuries, she is passionate about making safety meaningful and achievable across complex workplaces.
Melissa holds qualifications in WHS, auditing, exercise and nutrition, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science. Her broad skillset and frontline experience allow her to take a holistic, integrated approach to WHS, developing strategies that embed physical and mental wellbeing as core elements of sustainable safety performance.
As a committee member, Melissa is committed to strengthening the profession and building a more connected, capable WHS community. She is invested in ensuring the regional workforce is well supported and has a strong voice in the profession’s ongoing evolution.
